The Dance

I have always enjoyed the art of people like @morose.miniatures and how they convert the war figures we build and paint into a whole new context. I was fishing around in my closet of ideas (not shame) when I found some #kairicacolytes from #warhamemrunderworlds and with a quick snip their swords were gone. Their striking poses already reminded me of the 40K Harlequins and the idea of the dance reminds me of my wife and I and how we will dance together from time to time.

Inspired by the Wildfire Torus from #ageofsigmar . As I was cleaning up the model I was reminded of the movie #lastunicorn and that epic scene where the unicorn is seemly cornered against the ocean and the Red Bull. So I ripped it off its base and indulged my inspiration. This continues my development of using bases to help sell the narrative as the bull is tilted upward to represent its dominance while also canting the angle to present the situation. I also struggled with making the bull glow as it does in the movie but I think I finally got the hang of that in the end.

This diorama has been bouncing around in my head for at least a year. It is the first time that I sketched out an idea before hand. It makes extensive use of foam, cork, plastic, resin to create the scene. The people and the gurney are all resin printed and unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a citation for the designer. It is all 1:64 scale and is inspired by an almost 17 year long career in EMS. these brave men and women put aside their comfort safety every day to help those in need. If you meet someone in EMS tomorrow (EMT, Paramedic, Fire, or even those in safety), a quick thank you means the world.
